1960 (ND 1964) Indonesia 1000 Rupiah "Soekarno" Note — Bank Indonesia, PMG 35
This is the highest denomination in the whole Soekarno series, and an authentic piece of vintage paper money worth a closer look. Done in a striking deep green, it shows Soekarno once again in military uniform with his iconic peci cap on the front. The reverse is a completely different scene from the rest of the series — two Balinese dancers in elaborate headdress and costume, captured mid-performance, one of the more beautifully engraved reverses in Indonesian numismatics and a genuine standout as vintage decor on its own.
This banknote holds up well at Choice Very Fine, with the green ink still bold and the portrait detail clean and legible throughout.
