One of the most coveted notes in Indonesia's legendary 1957 "Fauna" Series: the 500 Rupiah featuring a majestic Sumatran tiger (macan) in mid-stride on the obverse, framed by an ornate Balinese-style border. The reverse depicts a serene rice terrace landscape with water buffalo grazing in the foreground, a stunning contrast between the wild and the pastoral.

This particular denomination is genuinely scarce, highly sought-after by both local Indonesian and international collectors, and commands strong demand in the market, making it one of the key pieces for anyone serious about completing the 1957 Fauna Series.
